Even though the audience for this piece is broader than teenagers and young adults, most of those who stopped to photograph or admire this street art were in this category.
Based on the computer-animated film Monsters Inc., Sulley and Mike Wazowski are in the childhood memories of many of todays’ teens and young adults. Being this the generation that grew up with the different social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, many of their interaction with the art was to photograph it using their phones and upload it to the different social medias. This interactions with street art impacts greatly the graffiti culture making it more global than local and allowing those who don’t have the opportunity to see the piece in person to appreciate it and be able to remember those childhood memories as well.
