Royal Park Tunnel

Our urban exploration of Brunswick starts here in this tunnel situated in Princes Park. With hidden, dark, blank walls, perhaps it is unsurprising to seethe tunnel covered in graffiti. However, the dog walkers, cyclists, and school children utilisiing the walkway signals that the direct contact made with the space each day is by both graffiti writers and others in the community.

To arrive at the next stop on the tour, you should walk through the tunnels and continue along the bike path turning right, north of the city. As you keep walking through the park across the road, notice the transition from the natural surroundings of the park to the train tracks, signaling industrialisation and furthermore, the importance of considering the environment in which artwork is situated.
