Stop 2: Create community around food.

Location: Queen Victoria Market.

Savannah and other members of the creative group would much rather shop for fresh, local goods at places like the Queen Victoria Market using their reusable grocery bag, rather than consuming processed foods from chain grocery stores. She has the chance to support the local economy and support farmers in the area. Queen Victoria Market is an experience within itself. Savannah makes a point to try a unique food from one of the stands she has never had before, every time she visits the market. She also checks out the art and tokens up for sale to fully immerse in the culture. She stops at all of the street performers, art shows, and gallery set-ups around the market. Savannah loves the idea that fewer carbon emissions were used because the food doesn’t have to travel very far, and she has greater opportunity for seasonal and flavourful eating.
