5th Stop: Blue Bird Near Brunswick Street

After, head to Argyle Street where you will see many different pieces of innovative pieces. There are many artworks with graffiti tagged over it on this street, but look for the art piece of an eloquent blue bird shown in this picture. If you look closely in the top right corner you can see someone wrote over it ‘nice bird.’ The individual who wrote over this piece is obviously giving positive feedback to the street artist, but if you worked hard on this piece would you want someone to write over it? Overall, the idea of street art is different for each individual. Some individuals look at this graffiti and call it vandalism while others believe it is freedom of speech. Throughout this tour, I wanted each of you to think about these different situations through your own eyes without any biases and hope you enjoyed wandering the streets of Melbourne. There is so much artwork that is constantly changing and is up to each individual’s minds to distinguish what he or she likes and dislikes.
