Increasingly, more individuals are commissioning artists to create murals on their property to reduce the impact of graffiti. A compromise of sorts is negotiated. There is an element of irony in this outcome, that in order to reduce graffiti, individuals are inviting artists to create works of art that discourage graffiti to continue.

Although it is difficult to determine who the artist(s) are and whether this house was commissioned, the magnitude of the work and the fact that one of the walls is inside the property would suggest that this is so. The nature of the street art on this house incorporates a visual storyboard, which is reminiscent of an early western themed movie. The inside wall depicts images from the movie “A Clockwork Orange”. The home’s close proximity to the railway line and the surrounding industrial buildings would have made this home a target for graffiti which is evident on houses located close by.
