Like most things that start off as a radical form of expression, often become a part of the mainstream world. And nothing could be more mainstream than the use of graffiti on the front fence of a newly developed apartment block. The company that developed the Student Apartment block in Porter Street Prahran teamed up with “Graffix Creative”, a graffiti company that specialises in graffiti management solutions. The developers commissioned this company to create a work for the apartment’s fence. The motive for the commissioning of this particular work was its close proximity to the railway line and therefore its propensity to be a target for graffiti artists. It has now been five years since the artwork was developed yet it remains in pristine condition.
