Taste, Cnr of Chapel and Johnston
Text
Melbourne’s Café culture is as synonymous with the city’s cultural landscape as its street art, which is where the next human sense organ comes in to play; taste. Further West on Johnston St becomes a bustling metropolis of cafes and eateries, surrounded by murals, commissions and illegal street art. One such place is La Condesa’s backstreet Taqueria, who unassumingly opened their backstreet courtyard for taco service on Chapel St. On the opposite side of the footpath is small café, Juddy Roller.
Surrounded by works of various Melbourne street artists, including Kaffeine, as well as Sydney artist, Ears and international artist, Will Coles these unassuming eateries create an urban dining experience. They have incorporated Melbourne’s cultural institutions of street art and food, which allows you to experience the artistic variety while also tasting it at the same time.
So, stop, have a break and get some caffeine with Kaffeine.
